If you are excited for the old-school WW2 shooter Battalion 1944, well this news should get you hyped even more as Bulkhead Interactive and the Square Enix Collective have revealed the official date it will hit Steam Early Access.

February 1st is the date to put in your calendars folks!, with Battalion 1994 aiming to recreate and build on the close combat mastered by FPS games in the early 90s. Speaking about the announcement, Joe Brammer – Studio Lead at Bulkhead Interactive stated:

It feels good to get Battalion 1944 into the hands of gamers after working on it so hard. We’ve been testing the game behind closed doors with our Kickstarter backers. It’s now time for us to extend our testing to Early Access to help what I believe can one of the best competitive FPS games ever. We’re going to be using the beta to run domination on the Manorhouse V1 map, as well as showing off our new competitive mode ‘Wartide’ on the map Liberation. It’s one last chance for us to test out our wares with FPS players before we make the leap to Early Access.

Yup, that’s right, there will be a exclusive beta of Battalion 1944 from January 19th – 21st. If you want to take part, make sure you sign up here. Those who have backed the Kickstarter or Humble Bundle will get access to the beta automatically.
