That’s because NBA and Take-Two have announced that they will be debuting the NBA 2K eLeague next year, in order to find the best virtual Basketball players around the world. It will be backed and the teams will be operated by actual NBA franchises. Each team will be made up of five professional eSports players.

The league format will consist of competing head-to-head throughout a regular season, participating in a bracketed playoff system, and concluding with a championship matchup. said Strauss Zelnick, Chairman and CEO of Take-Two said the following regarding the NBA 2K eLeague:
