Four adorable animals. One ancient mech each. Zero chill.

Uncommon Games has announced that the AnimalKind Steam demo will receive a major update on February 23rd. The indie developers will be adding online multiplayer – just in time for Steam Next Fest. For the first time, players will be able to team up with three other firiends, in the demo. This brings Animalkind’s cosy open-world building, exploration, and mecha-powered antics fully online.

Previously limited to solo play, starting February 23rd, the updated demo will let players collaborate in building their towns, gathering resources, and customising their island paradise. With the added bonus of simply goofing around together in this post-paw-calyptic world. With seamless co-op, players can experience first-hand how Animalkind blends relaxing town-building with lighthearted multiplayer chaos. All whilst piloting ancient mechs as adorable animal heroes.

Uncommon Games is also pleased to accounce that veteran games writer and narrative designer Kelsey Beachum (oOuter Wilds, Avowed, Dying Light 2) has joing their team. Players will be able to enjoy her writing starting with the new updated demo.

If you’re not familiar, Animalkind is an open-world town-building game set in a wilderness of charming animal characters and modern, powerful mechs. Explore dynamic biomes, gather resources, construct a thriving village, and customise your home. Discover hints of what came before as you shape what comes next.
