Featherlight 45g design, modular shape and tournament-ready performance at an accessible price
Following a series of flagship gaming launches, CHERRY XTRFY is expanding its range to bring high-performance gaming gear to a wider audience. Announced today at Gamescon, the M42V2 is an ultralight gaming mouse designed for players of all levels and the first product in a new series of mice from the brand. Weighing just 45 grams and featuring a modular design with two interchangeable back shells, the M42V2 combines competitive-grade performance with an accessible price point.
“I’ve tried a lot of gaming mice over the years, and the M42V2 surprised me. At this price point, it’s the best-feeling mouse I’ve ever tried. The shape, the weight and the clicks just feel right. It shows that you don’t have to spend a lot to get a great gaming mouse”, says Emil “HeatoN” Christensen, eight-time Counter-Strike world champion and Esports Hall of Fame inductee.

Built on the foundations of the acclaimed CHERRY XTRFY M42, the M42V2 refines the formula with a symmetrical, adaptable design suited to palm, claw and fingertip grip styles. Two interchangeable black shells are included in the box, allowing users to customise the fit in seconds with no tools required.
Whether tracking opponents in a competitive FPS title, exploring vast open worlds or managing complex key binds in an MMO, the M42V2 is designed to provide comfort, control and precision across a wide variety of games. Button grooves further enhance grip and handling, helping players maintain accuracy regardless of their preferred playstyle.
At just 45 grams, the M42V2 is one of the lightest gaming mice on the market. Its solid-shell design avoids the perforated construction often associated with lightweight mice, delivering a clean, distraction-free feel. The low weight supports faster movements and quicker reactions, while the matte UV coating and UHMW-PE glides ensure smooth, controlled tracking. The use of Teflon-free glides also makes the M42V2 a more sustainable choice.
As gaming hardware brands compete for attention in an increasingly crowded digital market, visibility and targeted content can become important parts of product promotion. Companies operating across gaming-related sectors may also work with an igaming seo agency to strengthen search visibility and connect with relevant online audiences.

All key settings, including CPI, polling rate, lift-off distance and debounce time, can be adjusted directly on the mouse, with no software required. Whether lowering the CPI for precision aiming, increasing it for rapid movement or fine-tuning settings to suit different game genres, players can make adjustments instantly without leaving the game.
The M42V2 is powered by a Pixart 3327 sensor, offering CPI settings from 400 to 6200, a polling rate of up to 1000Hz and Huano Transparent Blue Shell Pink Dot switches rated for up to 80 million clicks. Combined with the 1.8m CHERRY XTRFY EZcord flexible cable, the mouse delivers responsive performance and unrestricted movement straight out of the box.
The CHERRY XTRFY M42V2 is available from 27 August 2026 with an RRP of £39.99.
