Dominate the lands with historical monarchs in the first ever DLC expansion
The King is Watching, the award-nominated roguelite kingdom builder, has new content arriving in Steam this month. From developer Hypnohead and publisher tinyBuild, the Crowns of History DLC allows players to harness the power of past rulers, coming to Steam on March 16th 2026. Publishers revealed this DLC during The Mix Spring Showcase, building on the already successful game with more than 500k copies sold.
Forge a pact with three visionaries of the past, desolating the realm with death, rebirth or pure maniacal power. Bow to Queen Cleopatrea, the Empress of Death, who raises armies from the dead to overwhelm antagonizing forces. Harvest canopy from fallen units to revive loyal Egyptian-inspired figures like Sphinxes, Jinns, Horus, and the fearsome Anubis Saber Masters. Cast Pharos Blessings, reanimating units and triggering explosive scarabs to annihilate armies in one fell swoop.
Kneel to the Master of Offensive Structures, Taizong of Tang, an emperor who turns fortifications into engines of destruction. Wield the power to repair and enhance offensive structures whose firepower relies on the trust of the people. Recruit expert Crossbowmen to defend castle walls at zero cost to unit limits. Summon lighting to wipe invaders with Divine Punishment, send your calvary to finish them off and dominate with the strength of the Tang Dynasty.
Give praise to Xerxes, The Glass Cannon King, whose demolishing force explodes enemy assaults at the cost of fragility. The Ephemeral Existence ability grants amplified damage to the detriment of a 90% health penalty. Cast Sands of Time to reset all unit ability cooldowns, teleport Immortals to target areas, and raise the most formidable yet delicate army. The King is Watching – you choose your king.

The King is Watching’s Crown of History DLC is available for pre-purchase on PC via Steam for less than five pounds. The base game is currently on sale for £8.31, offer ending March 19th. In-game language support includes English, Simplified Chinese, German, Russian, Spanish (EU), Japanese, Korean, French, Brazilian Portuguese, and Polish. What are you waiting for?
