Amber Studio has rolled out a major update for the Mexican Ninja demo as it approaches its 2026 release on Steam. The updated demo features a fully revamped panda boss, rebuilding the fight from the ground up, and an expanded skill tree that tightens every moment of the brawl. Set in Nuevo Tokyo, a single corrupt ruling class known as the Narkuzas are in control. The Narkuzas are a fusion of Mexican Narcos and Japanese Yakuza, creating a new enemy. Mexican Ninja is a fast and chaotic brawler that is easy to learn yet rewarding of real mastery. The updated demo doubles down on its selling points – precise, readable combat and

Fans of Absolum will recognise Mexican Ninja’s commitment to fusing the classic side-scrolling brawler with a modern rogue-like loop. The game’s inspirations reach further back to the arcade beat ’em up revival of Streets of Rage 4 and the retro swagger of Shredder’s revenge. Every run reshuffles the streets of Nuevo Tokyo, with new builds, spirit powers, and outrageous Mexican Jutsus shaping your fighting style. At heart, Mexican Ninja lives and dies on the snap of a parry, the weight of a hit, and the rhythm of a run that’s always one mistake from disaster. This update sharpens this existing foundation, starting with the fight that is most anticipated by players.

What’s New?

Leading the charge is a top-to-bottom revamp of the panda boss, now dealing deadlier attacks, smarter combos, and an improved battle that will put every player’s parry timing to the test. This update also improves overall combat across the game, with wide-ranging tweaks to controls and the moment-to-moment action that makes every attack and defence smoother. The introductory tutorial has also been reworked to end on a bigger, more dramatic note, setting the game’s tone before the brawl begins.

Progression and balance got plenty of attention too. El Cascos has been hit with the nerf hammer, so ninjas will slice though him a little easier. New Jutsu upgrades and an expanded, reworked skill tree open up more paths to build your unique fight style. A healthy round of bug fixes were also applied for a smoother, cleaner run.
