Ninja Kiwi, the acclaimed studio behind the Bloons franchise, has announced a demo update for Zombie Assault: Resurgence as part of the upcoming Steam Next Fest. Zombie Assault: Resurgence is the latest game in the Zombie Assault series, set to launch in 2026. Players of the demo can contribute to a community kill count, which if completed will unlock an exclusive weapon at launch.

Set a hundred years after the last game series, Zombie Assault: Resurgence drops players into the boots of an elite mercenary squad battling humanity’s re-emerging nightmare. Players will face down new and returning threats in the search to uncover the secrets behind the return of humanity’s old enemies.

Running Feburary 23rd to March 2nd, the demo update brings three distinct classes, three maps, and five game modes full of zombie blasting action. Players will face down to terrifying bosses – the regurgiator and the shredder – alone or with up to four total players in online co-op. In between missions, players can level up and upgrade weapons at the Aegis Station, accepts bountries, and test powerful builds before deploying on increasingly challenging missions. This list of deadly tools and features will only grow with the eventual launch of the full game.

During the Next Fest demo, players will be able to contribute to a global community kill count. Every zombie kill counts towards a shared total. If the community hits the target by the end of Next Fest, all participants will unlock an exclusive weapon at full lunch of Zombie Assault: Resurgence – The Morlok Frostbite Pistol, a unique cryo-based sidearm available only to those who joined the hunt.
