Wartales, the medieval open-world tactical RPG opens up a whole new field of battle in its latest DLC. From the developer Shiro Games, Contract: The Fief is arriving on PC via Steam and GOG on September 25th. Take command of a domain of your very own. Enact laws, oversee industry and tradecraft, and manage state affairs as the fiefdom grows and develops. Attend to each district, directing the construction of new buildings for production and culture.
Contract: The Fief merges seamlessly with Wartales’ campaigns. Add new layers and stakes to the experience by managing the fiefdom from anywhere in the world any time your roving band of mercenaries takes a rest. Watch closely as factions emerge and vie for influence among peasants, nobles, scholars, and clergy. These groups ultimately determine the domain’s overarching identity. Will the realm be known for its strict militarism, as a bustling trade hub, or a center for scholarship? Issue decrees and mandates to shift the balance of power, taking care to monitor the people’s happiness. Each decision impacts the day-to-day lives of the subjects, granting them the prosperity they need to become cultured and wealthy. Or will you doom them to short, brutish lives of violence and starvation.
