After four years of hard work – MixedBag, an independent studio based in Turin, Italy have finally announced a release day for their multi-platform Metroidvania-style adventure game, Forma.8!

Forma.8 is set to release on 3rd February for PlayStation 4, PSVita, Xbox One, PC and even the Wii U – priced at £11.99 / €14.99

“As the small exploration probe forma.8, you’re stranded alone on the surface of an alien planet. Separated from your companions by accident you have a life or death mission to accomplish: find and recover a lost, powerful energy source before it’s too late. And not everything is what it seems…”

Forma.8 offers all of the standard gameplay hooks of the classic Metroidvania formula and so much more. A huge world of wonders to explore, a unique system of control, power-ups to collects to unlock new zones, enemies to fight, puzzles to solve, a cryptic story and everyone’s favourite – huge bosses!

All of this is presented with beautifully crafted unique visuals using a combination of hand-drawn vector graphics, 3D characters and very high resolution and anti-aliasing to bring the world of Forma.8 to life at a fantastic silky smooth 60 frames per second.

MixedBag actually started out as a 2 person development team – Founded in 2013 by ex-journalist Mauro Fanelli and graphic designer Andrea Gellato, who were focused on creating and developing new and original IPs for console, PC and mobile markets.

“The team has since grown into a 7 people party and our quest remains to value good ideas and dress them in striking new ways, being them abstract futuristic visions or tributes to past gaming ages.
