Need for Speed is a series that has been around for years. Many see Undergound as the pinnacle of the series but the series seems to have dipped a little in the last few versions. However, EA are back and have revealed the latest Need for Speed, Payback.

Need for Speed Payback will be released for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on November 10th. It comes packed with car battles of the highest stakes, epic heist missions, cop pursuits and high risk set pieces. The story comes fueled of betrayal and revenge. Payback means it is no longer about who comes first, instead it is about perfecting the ultimate ride and playing out an action driving fantasy.

The game is set in the underworld of Fortune Valley, with players taking on the roles of three different characters. These include Tyler, the Racer; Mac, the Showman and Jess, the wheelman, with challenges being set out in order for you to gain respect of the underground. Need for Speed Payback will feature the deepest customization options in the series. You will be able to push your car to the ultimate limit and raise the stakes by betting on your own performance. Marcus Nilsson, Executive Producer stated:

Need for Speed returns this year to challenge what players expect from racing games. We’re still delivering everything our fans love about the franchise – the deepest customization, an impressive roster of cars, intense races and open world pursuits – but with Need for Speed Payback, we’re bringing together all those elements in an all new blockbuster driving experience. From the story, to the different characters you can drive as, to the varied missions, to the edge-of-your-seat moments, this is our vision for what action driving entertainment means today.

Those who pre-order the game will get the Platinum Car Pack. This includes iconic cars such as:

  • Nissan 350Z 2008
  • Chevrolet Camaro SS 1967
  • Dodge Charger R/T 1969
  • Ford F-150 Raptor 2016
