Sonic Mania To Get Special Stages

Over at Comic-Con this weekend, it was revealed that the upcoming Sonic Mania will be featuring Special Stages in the game.

The announcement was made at Comic-Con in a fully packed Sonic Mania: Behind the Scenes panel at San Diego.

It was a panel with new insight from Takashi Iizuka (head of Sonic Team), Christian Whitehead (developer for Sonic Mania), Simon Thomley (programmer for Sonic Mania), Tom Fry (artist for Sonic Mania), and Tee Lopes (composer for Sonic Mania). Moderated by Aaron Webber (social media manager for Sonic), the panelists discussed the road to development behind Sonic Mania, all building up to the release date of August 15th.

They also discussed background on the origins of Sonic Mania, fun stories about the development process, the art behind the game, and additional details of the Sonic Mania vinyl, which can be pre-ordered here.

On this episode of Hype from Outer Heaven, join Kyle and Brandon (Prince is off on his travels and Caleb couldn’t get out of work for this one) as they re-visit one of their most formative movies from their childhoods; Joel Schumacher’s excellent 1987 black comedy, vampire flick: The Lost Boys.
